Apple's own software is full of "good" ideas like this that they think enhance the user experience but really get in the way and create annoyances for anyone who isn't a casual computer user (and are generally of no practical benefit to the casual user.) In their minds it makes sense to keep this menu item there. It didn’t get the modules nor the settings right, and I ended up re-doing everything manually. When I upgraded from RX6 to RX7, preset import didn’t work that well.

I tend to ascribe this kind of thing to developers thinking they're doing something good rather than being malicious. The install was easy with their Product Portal, and I authorised to my iLok. I am pretty sure it has nothig to do with my machine. I can now fully quit the product portal using Cmd-Q, and the menu item goes away. iZotope Product Portal I reinstalled it a couple times, deactivated all antivirus/firewall settings and even tried installing it on a virtual machine, reset my router to factory settings and installed Product Portal on 3 different machines in different networks. Select iZotope Product Portal as the application and type in "Quit Product Portal" as the shortcut name (to match what you see in the portal application menu) and press Cmd-Q to assign the shortcut. Open keyboard settings, select Shortcuts, then App Shortcuts. If youre using Product Portal to install, you can click the Gear icon in Product Portal > Preferences and set Custom Install as your preferred method.

Pretty sure EtreCheck allows you to remove them as well, but it's been a while since I've needed to use it.Ĭoming into this thread late, but in case it's helpful - you can remap Cmd-Q on Mac back to quit instead of "close window." (You might see some you recognize that may be needed). I can now fully quit the product portal using Cmd-Q, and the menu item goes away. You can also install EtreCheck and have it specifically scan for launch agents. Select iZotope Product Portal as the application and type in 'Quit Product Portal' as the shortcut name (to match what you see in the portal application menu) and press Cmd-Q to assign the shortcut. If it is a launch agent and doesn't have an option to disable it on startup that's shady, and you should send a follow up email to izotope telling them that. At least you know whatever 's going on though. (My guess would be this has something to do with infrastructure coming for their subscription).

That said when something like this launches and doesn't go away it may very well have installed a Launch Agent. (Your post you quote above describes the procedure to remove a plugin *from a folder/category* in Logic using the Plugin Manager, not to completely remove the plugin from the Plugin Manager - as you correctly suspected.Check the following locations for some kind of launch agent it installed. In custom categories, "deleting" them (ie hitting backspace) will remove them *from those folders/categories*, because you quite often want to change what plugins appear in your eg "My Favourite Compressors" plugin category/folder, but it won't remove them from the Plugin Manager completely (because you might want to put them in other categories, or hide/unhide at your whim.) The Plugin Manager lets you manage plugins - by unticking them, those plugins will not appear in any of Logic's menus. If it did, you've never be able to "unhide" a previously hidden plugin, because you couldn't click on it in the list if it was no longer there. Hidden plugins are not removed from the Plugin Manager (which shows all plugins installed on your system). Then select the INSTALL/AUTHORIZE filter for an easy view of products available to install. I think you're misunderstanding how it works. Launch Product Portal and navigate to the MY PRODUCTS tab. Thanks again for the clarification, however I've found that the manual's procedures have NO effect on the Plugin Manager list, the plugin remains visible.
